Large pile of bulk items left on the curb by 120 E Grand. It's been several days; don't think they scheduled a bulk pickup (?). DPW will you please remove? Thanks.
Please see pic attached of 120 E Grand pile this evening. There is a bulk pickup scheduled for tomorrow @ 48 Aner; can you do both at the same time please?
Are the people who do this without scheduling and paying for a pickup fined? If they are not I may have some items I would like to have picked up. Please let me know and I will just leave them out and when someone complains you can just pick them up.
XYZ there's not an effective procedure in place right now to 1) positively identify the perpetrators 2) fine them and 3) actually collect the fines. DPW needs to set up a better way for residents to get rid of bulk items and until they do they're just doing random pickups all over the city, based on reported sightings.
XYZ - Is it alright? Depends on what you mean by alright. By current city ordinances it's considered illegal. But the "no charge" is just not true at all. I'm pretty sure Guilford residents are not driving here to dump their couches and until they do, DPW is picking up the discarded items of taxpayers, so it's certainly not "at no charge." New Haven has very high taxes and until they get their act together and realize that there's a better way to do bulk pickups, they'll continue to do it piecemeal. I've lived in metro areas with lower taxes and MUCH better muni services (and regularly scheduled bulk pickup days! for everyone! ) so I know it can be done.
Yes I'm aware of that; thanks. But considering the high taxes I already pay, an additional $50 (plus their onerous scheduling requirements) is just absurd. I've no sympathy for all the mess they're having to pick up lately. They need to fix this mess.
Items picked up. Issue closed. If you need to report another issue please submit to See Click Fix or call Department of Public Works at (203) 946 - 7700. Thanks.

Are you saying it is alright to discard furniture and eventually the city will pick it up at no charge.
